Reaktion Books
Reaktion Books is an independent book publisher founded in 1985 in Edinburgh, Scotland, moved to London in 1987, and has been located in Clerkenwell, UK since 1999. Reaktion’s founding aim was to publish high-quality books on art, architecture and design. Over subsequent years Reaktion’s list has broadened substantially, and now encompasses animal studies, Asian art and culture, biography, cultural studies, current events, fashion, film, food history, geography, general history, philosophy, photography, politics, sports history and writing about place, with around 45 new titles published each year. Series are also significant part of Reaktion’s publishing programme. The Animal series are short natural and cultural histories of a particular animal, now numbering more than 30 titles. Books in the Edible series are global histories of a particular kind of food, Exposures explores themes in photography and Modern Architectures in History looks at the architecture of a particular nation since 1900, and its interaction with Modernism.
